The
steel window has been around for many years, being used in commercial
and domestic buildings. There are literally hundreds of different
parts from various manufacturers that are used in steel windows.
We carry a great deal of fittings in various finishes, not only
parts that are still available but also handles, stays, hinges,
catches, restrictors and brackets that have been salvaged.
 There
are so many parts that have been produced during the last two centuries
that it is sometimes difficult to identify the items you require.
We are often able to recognise a fitting from a sketch or more often
these days, a digital image.
This enables you to accurately describe your requirements via an
e.mail and can sometimes result in a reply and despatch on the same
day.
Aluminium Window Fittings
Aluminium
windows have been widely used in all types of buildings over the
last forty years, with their popularity increasing during the sixties
and seventies. The PVC window has taken the largest share of the
market for domestic applications in recent years but aluminium still
remains the preferred choice for commercial use. Over the years,
various parts have become worn or damaged and need replacing. Cavendish
Hardware carries a vast range of parts for these types of windows,
many of which are now unique to us. Over the last ten years we have
amassed a great deal of parts for obsolete systems and if not available,
we will look into the possibility of reproducing them for you.

Folding openers of many different types and finishes are usually
available off the shelf.
Link bars, rings and extension poles are also available to expand
the range of possibilities of these very versatile fittings.
We also carry several versions that either lock, release or
fold aside.

Restrictors
Although we carry many other restrictors for all sorts of applications,
the Jackloc is perhaps the most versatile.
These are available in different finishes, brackets and cable
lengths, to suit many different window types, in any material.

 Custom
Made Items
If a part has become obsolete or a standard item requires modification,
we will endeavour to satisfy your requirements with our Custom Made
fittings. These include many different options and variations. The
images shown here are just an example of what can be supplied, as
over the years we have made many replica and modified parts.
We
are also involved in providing solutions to problems and will offer
purpose made parts for unusual applications. As an example, the
extrusion shown below was made to convert a dark single skin structure
over a school swimming pool into a bright, warm environment for
the children to enjoy. This is done with 10mm Twinwall Polycarbonate,
secured over the whole length of the panel, with the extrusion being
able to follow the curve of the structure.
